A journey of educator to content curator
Embarking on a professional journey in the scientific and medical field requires a blend of expertise, dedication, and a passion for innovation. My career has been a testament to this, as I’ve navigated through roles that demanded both leadership and technical prowess. Currently, I hold the position where my responsibilities span across managing a multinational account, overseeing content production, and leading a team of talented junior colleagues. My role is pivotal in producing a wide array of scientific content, from emailers to infographics, ensuring each piece meets the stringent MLR/HPRC review requirements.
My professional path reflects a deep-seated commitment to advancing scientific communication within the healthcare industry. With each role, I’ve embraced the challenges and opportunities to leave a mark on the field, whether it’s through leading teams, launching new services, or contributing to the body of medical literature. As I continue to evolve and contribute to this dynamic sector, my focus remains on driving excellence and innovation in every project I undertake.
Upon completing my postgraduate studies in Pharmacy, I embarked on a career path that has been both challenging and rewarding. My initial role as a Certified Cardiac Technician provided me with a unique opportunity to monitor live electrocardiograms (ECGs) of patients. This position required a high level of precision and attention to detail, as I was responsible for identifying critical cardiac events, including cardiac arrests and fibrillations, which sometimes resulted in patient fatalities.
As my career progressed, I transitioned into a specialized role focusing on cardio-metabolic diseases, particularly within the cardiovascular and metabolic therapy areas. In this capacity, I served as a Diabetes Educator, a role that allowed me to disseminate crucial knowledge to patients. My objective was to empower individuals to maintain optimal health and fitness while managing their conditions with antidiabetic medication. This experience was instrumental in enhancing my understanding of patient education and the importance of effective communication in healthcare.
The subsequent years of my professional journey were dedicated to Medical Affairs, where I invested over six years of service. My tenure in this domain was marked by a steadfast commitment to promoting evidence-based medicine. I took pride in delivering scientific information to the medical fraternity supported by robust evidence. My responsibilities extended to mentoring sales representatives, equipping them with the skills necessary for scientific communication. Additionally, I was involved in drafting medical content that catered to the needs of healthcare professionals, ensuring that the information provided was both accurate and relevant.
My current role allows me to amalgamate my accumulated knowledge and experience in the creation of medical promotional materials. This position not only demands a deep understanding of medical science but also requires creativity and strategic thinking.
